Is TrapEaze safe enough to put your hands in the trap when it's hooked on?

Kia ora!

A video I posted on my TrapEaze Facebook page recently caused some concern from viewers that the tool wasn't safe enough to have my hands in the trap whilst the killbar was elevated with the tool hooked on.

I can understand people being worried about that. DOC200 traps are powerful traps and one wrong move could seriously damage your fingers.

I'm confident that the tool is secure when hooked onto the wooden box because the downward pressure of the killbar is pulling against the hook wedged into the wood, making it very solid and I'm very careful not to whack the handle of the TrapEaze upwards whilst I'm servicing my trap.

If you don't trust the tool, you don't have to put your hands anywhere near the trap, that is the joy of this tool, it can make the whole process of cleaning & clearing your trap hands-free.

All you need to do is use long handled tongs to clear the critter and a long handled brush to clean your trap and you don't have to go near the trap at all. Then simply keep pulling on the TrapEaze handle and the trap sets.

Fantastic for people who are wary of DOC200's and don't want to lose their fingers! :D

Happy Trappin'
